URE aims to build more than half of nation’s solar units

United Renewable Energy Co (URE, 聯合再生) plans to build more than half of the nation’s solar panel modules this year, the company said yesterday.
In a statement, the nation’s biggest solar module supplier said that it has secured new government solar farm projects through open bidding.
The firm said it has secured module supply contracts for a 120 megawatt (MW) aquaculture/solar project in Tainan, a 100MW project on sunken land in Pingtung County and a 70MW project on an island off Yunlin County.

Fragrant lilies usually sell well over the Lunar New Year holiday for their symbolic connotations, but have been in especially high demand this year for a surprising reason to test for COVID-19, flower vendors said on Saturday.
This week, new year lilies fetched about NT$200 for a bouquet of cut flowers and NT$200 to NT$260 for a 5cm planter.
The price has not changed much from previous years, yet they have been selling far better, vendors at Changhua County’s Tianwei Highway Garden said.
COVID-19: Student creates mask for asthmatics

A student at Changhua County’s Dayeh University has created a mask that allows the wearer to use an asthma inhaler without removing the mask.
Although masks have become a necessity amid the COVID-19 pandemic, people with asthma must remove them while taking medication, exposing them to risk, Department of Industrial Design student Chiu Chen-ting (邱振莛) said on Monday.
Chiu designed a mask that incorporates a contoured inhaler, which releases medication when the wearer lightly touches the front of the mask.
