ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet on Tuesday directed Pakistan’s navy and air force to vacate state land that they had “encroached on”, especially in the federal capital’s National Park area.
The cabinet meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan, once again invited the opposition to sit with the government to discuss important national issues, but said talks would not be held with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif, Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Maryam Nawaz and Altaf Hussain.
“They have no right to even lead their parties as they are not part of the parliament,” the meeting said.

Promoting women entrepreneurs is the key priority of the government to reduce poverty and improve economic growth, therefore, the government is taking many initiatives to bring more women into the mainstream of the economy.
This was stated by Zartaj Gul, minister of state for climate change, while inaugurating an exhibition of women handcraft products.
The event was organised by the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) in collaboration with Handicrafts Association of Pakistan and the Centaurus at Centaurus Mall, Islamabad.
Zartaj Gul said that the government has formed a policy to provide interest free loans to women and they would also be supported through Kamyab Jawan and Ehsaas Programs so that they could play a more effective role in the economic development of the country and uplift the living standard of their families.

Capital in grip of mangoes’ aroma

Islamabad : The three-day Mango Festival, organised at the Centaurus Mall, would literally live in the memories of Islooites for so long, as this brought natural fragrances of hundreds of mango varieties in the capital city from different regions of the country.
The mango festival was visited by people from all walks of life including government ministers, industrialists and ambassadors from different countries, the presence of whom made it a successful and memorable event.
The fair encouraged farmers and exporters and was expected to pave the way for boosting export-quality mango production at a time when the government was seriously introducing policies to enhance exports from the country through various interventions and provision of incentives.

The Adviser to Prime Minister on Commerce, Abdul Razak Dawood on Friday said that Pakistan is a major potential producer of mangoes and predicted that up to 160,000 Metric Tons (MT) of mangoes will be exported in the year of 2021.
Pakistani mangoes are in great demand abroad and, “We can earn millions of dollars in foreign exchange especially through the value addition of mangoes” the Adviser for Commerce expressed these views while talking to journalists during ‘Mango Festival’ organized by Centaurus Mall Islamabad.
The Adviser said that Pakistan’s export potential of ‘Mango Pulp’ stands at $500 million in the world market and through this Pakistan can enhance the value addition to enhance the country’s exports in foreign markets.
