CHATSWORTH,
Calif. At the end of August 2020, adult products manufacturer Svakom teamped up with Drop in the Bucket, a registered NGO that since 2006 has been doing community development by building water and sanitation facility at schools and communities.
After a successful campaign run by Svakom during Uganda Water and Environment Week, a well was built in Pader, a small Ugandan village, that will serve to provide clean water mainly to the Alim Health Center II.
Prior to this, a workers at Alim Health Center II have typically needed to trek half-a-mile each day to a borehole well to procure clean water, often having to wait in a line under the hot Ugandan sun for hours. The health center is the first place that anyone in the surrounding communities will go if they suspect they may have COVID-19. Workers will make five-mile trips a day in total to get the water necessary to keep the facility clean.
