Deux feux de forêt se sont ainsi retrouvés dans le radar des services d’urgence de la Saskatchewan au cours des derniers jours. La province comptait 25 feux actifs samedi soir, dont 10 qui n’étaient pas encore maîtrisés.
Sur ces incendies en cours, le feu à Briggs, au nord de la province, a fait craindre le pire depuis son signalement mercredi soir puisqu’il se situait près de la mine d’uranium à Cigar Lake.
«Cela a commencé le 29 juin dans l’après-midi. Avant 20h le lendemain, il avait dépassé les 1500 hectares», avait expliqué vendredi à Global News le vice-président des opérations de l’Agence de sécurité publique de la Saskatchewan, Steve Roberts.

Thousands of Nova Scotia Power customers were without electricity Sunday morning after high winds and heavy rain swept the province.
By the mid-afternoon, crews had made major headway and the number of customers still without power had fallen considerably.
