Rilee Biesler death being investigated, family mourns loss of 11-year-old

Rilee Beisler is being remembered this weekend through thousands of comments and posts across social media after her tragic passing in a home fire Wednesday evening. Authorities say the 11-year-old girl died due to smoke inhalation after she entered her home in the 1100 block of Iowa Street in the Sun N Fun resort off Fruitville Road to rescue her two puppies. Beisler and her family had moved into their new home only six months ago. Residents in the resort said they saw Rilee enter her home in search of the family s dogs, Luna and Dobby. However no witness saw Rilee escape the burning home. A family member of Rilee s confirmed on social media Thursday evening that her niece was attempting to save the animals.

The Sarasota County Sheriff s Office is investigating a fatal house fire at the Sun N Fun RV Resort Wednesday at approximately 5:45 p.m. According to the Sheriff s Office, the fire destroyed two homes and caused the death of an 11-year-old girl from Sarasota. Deputies received several 911 calls about a fire in the 1100 block of Iowa Street. Witnesses reported seeing a young female enter one of the homes and although bystanders tried to help but the girl never got out. According to witnesses, the child may have been attempting to save her dogs from the fire, the Sheriff s Office reported.
