Bar owner who defied Walz s orders reportedly selling Lakeville, Northfield restaurants

Bar owner who defied Walz s orders reportedly selling Lakeville, Northfield restaurants The Northfield establishment was recently denied a liquor license. Author: Joe Nelson/Bring Me The News The owner of the Alibi Drinkery in Lakeville and Alibi at Froggy Bottoms in Northfield is reportedly selling the restaurants.  Lisa Monet Zarza, who repeatedly violated Gov. Tim Walz s COVID-19 executive orders by keeping the Lakeville bar open last December and January, said this week she s selling both establishments, according to Sun This Week and FOX 9. Zarza s decision to keep the Alibi Drinkery open in defiance of the indoor bar service shutdown as cases, hospitalizations and deaths from COVID-19 peaked was the subject of multiple legal actions from state authorities and led to the suspension of her liquor license. A trial is slated to begin in July.

Alibi Drinkery owner denied liquor license for Northfield restaurant

Alibi Drinkery owner denied liquor license for Northfield restaurant The state took action against Lisa Monet Zarza for violating COVID-19 executive orders. Author: Joe Nelson/Bring Me The News The City of Northfield has denied a liquor license to Lisa Monet Zarza for her restaurant Alibi at Froggy Bottoms, which was based partly on her refusal to abide by Gov. Tim Walz s executive orders at her Lakeville restaurant.  The vote came after Northfield Police Chief Mark Elliott recommended the liquor license not be renewed, citing Alibi Drinkery s repeated violations of the governor s executive orders, including serving unmasked customers indoors, which led to lawsuits and license suspensions, according to City Council documents. Zarza also owns the Lakeville establishment.
