The Palmer Museum of Art at Penn State is delighted to announce the opening of "Summer Light: American Impressionist Paintings from the Thomas Clark Collection." On view through Aug. 29, this special exhibition features paintings from the major forthcoming gift of collector Thomas Clark, whose private holdings contain some of the finest in the American impressionist genre.
A Joshua Tree man was arrested late Saturday (April 10) night, accused of child endangerment, and driving while under the influence. Shortly before midnight, Tyler Brooks, 33, was driving westbound on Highway 62 near Sunfair Road at speeds that were over 100 mph. When Brooks was pulled over by deputies, he was found to be under the influence, with a juvenile also in the vehicle. Tyler Brooks was arrested for suspicion of DUI and child endangerment and booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $100,000.

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Palmer Museum of Art at Penn State is excited to announce its upcoming exhibition schedule for 2021, which begins when the Palmer reopens on Wednesday, Feb. 10. This year’s shows celebrate a diverse variety of periods and places around the world, spotlight Pennsylvania landscapes and artists, feature a number of women artists, and highlight impactful gifts and important partnerships with fellow institutions.

Starting Feb. 10, the Palmer Museum will be open Wednesday through Sunday. Advance reservations are strongly recommended. Free tickets are available using the museum’s new timed-ticketing system that can be accessed via the website at palmermuseum.psu.edu. The museum will follow COVID-19 safety protocols

Just minutes after fire crews got a handle on a brush fire in Rancho San Diego on Wednesday afternoon, a second blaze erupted in Carlsbad, this one in a heavily populated residential neighborhood.
The three-alarm Park Fire in North County broke out at about 2 p.m. and burned along Park Drive from Adams Street to Hillside Drive in the coastal city, just a few blocks from the eastern portion of the Aqua Hedionda Lagoon.
