Like most of you, I was astounded watching the images last Wednesday from Washington, D.C.
Like most of you, I never thought I’d see that sort of thing in these United States of America.
And then came the aftermath. The questions. The deaths. The ugly rearing of impeachment again. The finger pointing.
By Thursday, I had jotted down enough notes for 10 columns. By Saturday morning, both sides . . . check that, all sides, had turned the entire episode into nothing more than another opportunity to play politics. Everywhere I turned, someone was telling me why it wasn’t their fault and how the blame fell squarely on (insert name here). It’s Trump. It’s Antifa. It’s Pelosi. It’s right-wing extremists. It’s the Capitol Police. I kept waiting for Boris and Natasha to surface.

The Montgomery County Community Foundation is pleased to announce that Sidney Campbell has been named the 2021 Lilly Endowment Community Scholar for Montgomery County.
Sidney will receive four years of full tuition to any accredited public or private nonprofit college or university in Indiana. In addition, a $900 stipend for required books and equipment will be made available to her each year. She is the daughter of Jon and Martha Campbell and a senior at North Montgomery High School.
“I am extremely blessed to have been named this year’s Montgomery County Lilly Endowment Community Scholar,” Sidney said after being notified. “It is such an honor to be supported by such a loving community, including my principals and counselors, coaches, teachers, family, friends, the congregation at Woodland Heights Christian Church, and the Montgomery County Community Foundation.
