Sediment buildup from a pond for stormwater runoff in Sarnia’s northeast is in need of dredging, so the city is spending close to $900,000 on the job.

One of my first exposures to animal bullying was when we visited Uncle Jim’s farm near Dresden. I was five years old. We were in the house and heard a commotion in the barn, so Uncle Jim went outside to investigate. I ran behind and once in the barn, we saw that all the pigs had turned on one of their own. It was an awful bloody mess. Uncle Jim rescued the poor thing and isolated the victim in its own pen. I never heard the end of the story.
