Gandhinagar, April 21 : A division bench of the Gujarat High Court issued notices to the state BJP president and Navsari MP, CR Paatil, the Surat MLA, Harsh Sanghvi and state government as well as Surat Collector on a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by the Leader of Opposition (LOP) in Gujarat state assembly, Paresh Dhanani over the illegal and unauthorised distribution of Remdesivir injection from Surat BJP s office.
The LOP, Paresh Dhanani on previous Thursday had filed a PIL against the Gujarat BJP president Chandrakant R Paatil, the Majura (Surat) constituency BJP MLA, the Gujarat government through the Chief Secretary Anil Mukim, the principal secretary, health and family welfare, Jayanti Ravi, the FDCA Commissioner, Hemant Koshiya, the Surat Collector and the Surat Police Commissioner

Surat (Gujarat) [India], January 30 (ANI): The Surat Crime Brancharrested a gang of six persons for allegedly kidnapping a 36-year-old businessman, police said on Saturday.
According to the police, the incident happened when the businessman, a resident of Umra area, was going to the gym from his residence on Thursday morning.
The gang demanded a ransom of Rs 3 crores and they were later paid Rs 1 crore, stated the police. We rescued the victim and arrested all the accused involved. Prima Facie, it appears that the accused needed money. A probe is underway, said AK Tomar, Police Commissioner, Surat.

Gandhinagar, Jan 21 : Taking up a Habeas Corpus plea, the Gujarat High Court has ordered the immediate release of an inter-faith married couple, arrested by Palanpur police in Banaskantha district on a complaint from the woman s family.
A 30-year-old Muslim man from Palanpur married a 29-year-old Hindu woman of the town in December last year.
On January 9, following the complaint by the woman s father that his daughter stole Rs 82,000 and fled with an already-married Muslim man, the Palanpur police had detained the couple, who were residing in Surat. A local court subsequently sent them to four day police custody, as sought by the police.
