Adorable Ducklings Rescued From Storm Drain, Reunited With Mother

A mother duck was finally reunited with her 11 ducklings after they got stuck in a storm drain, according to a Canadian fire department.
The Oromocto Fire Department said it was notified after a man, who was walking near the Oromocto Mall in New Brunswick, found the ducklings inside a storm drain on Wednesday.
Firefighters and members from the Oromocto Engineering and Public Works and Water and Sewer Department.

A statement on the fire department s Facebook page read: At 08:40 a.m., the Oromocto Fire Department received a call from a gentleman who was walking in the area of the Oromocto Mall.

HAYWARD, CA An animal control officer s quick-thinking in Hayward, California, helped save a family of ducks that had fallen down a storm drain Thursday.
A mother duck was escorting her 12 ducklings across the Chabot College campus when 11 of them fell into the nearby drain, the Hayward Police Department said in a news release. The mama duck s distressed quacking caught the notice of a passerby who contacted the college s maintenance staff.
By the time a staff member was able to open the storm drain, the ducklings had moved farther down into the pipes and animal control authorities were called.

HAYWARD, Calif. - A Hayward Animal Control Officer valiantly saved 11 baby ducks after they fell into a storm drain on Wednesday.
Hayward Police said the mama duck had been walking across Chabot College campus with her 12 ducklings when 11 of them became trapped in the drain.
Upon realizing what had happened, the mother began quacking loudly which caught the attention of a passerby. A Chabot College Maintenance and Operations staff member then came to remove the grate on the drain, but the baby ducks scattered deeper into the pipes.
That is when Animal Control Officer Susan Perez arrived to save the day. Perez said she is familiar with rescuing a variety of animals from storm drains.

When you re the size of a tennis ball, even taking a walk is potentially hazardous. On Wednesday, 11 ducklings in Hayward, California found that out the hard way.
While strolling across the Chabot College campus with their mother and one sibling, the ducklings fell through a grate and into a storm drain, where they languished until Hayward Animal Control Officer Susan Perez devised a plan to rescue them. Hint: it involved YouTube.
The ducklings plight came to the attention of the authorities when a passerby noticed that the mama duck was quacking loudly and apparently notified the college s maintenance and operations department, according to a Facebook post by the Hayward Police Department.
