Harrison County (West Virginia) Commission to discuss medical cannabis facility property, county clerk appointment

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WV News) — The Harrison County Commission on Wednesday will discuss a property agreement for a medical cannabis facility, the upcoming appointment of a new county clerk and appointments to boards in what is expected to be a short meeting before the New Year. Last month, the Harrison County Development Authority approved a site development agreement with Harvest Care Medical LLC that would allow for the transfer of property near the North Central West Virginia Airport in exchange for development work at the site of the company’s planned state-of-the-art medical cannabis and processing plant. Under the agreement approved by the Development Authority, Harvest Care Medical will perform site development work, including demolition of an old house, installation of utilities and construction of an access road at a price tag of around $8-10 million, Harrison County Commissioner David Hinkle has said.

MCX CC: Extension for Ahlawat as MD/CEO hangs in the balance

PALAK SHAH An extension of term to Narendra Ahlawat, MD and CEO of MCX Clearing Corporation (MCX CC), is under discussion. His three-year term is to end in mid-2021 but has come up for renewal early because Ahlawat’s 2018 appointment as MD and CEO of MCX CC has been pending ratification as per the Companies Act. In January, BusinessLine reported that Ahlawat’s current appointment was erroneous as it was required to be ratified in the immediate EGM or the annual general meeting. This did not happen. MCX CC is a fully owned arm of Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX. According to sources, there is a view within MCX that granting an extension to Ahlawat has legal complications. PS Reddy, MD and CEO of MCX, has sought SEBI’s opinion in the matter, the sources said.
