California megachurch Pastor John MacArthur’s ministry denied he makes more than $500,000 annually from his Grace to You media ministry and defended the stewardship of his collective ministries finances on Tuesday after a recent report suggested his private lifestyle belies the modesty he preaches at the pulpit.
“The questions and quibbling innuendo that have been published on the Internet regarding John MacArthur’s income and stewardship are rooted in misinformation. For example, a report has been floating around online for some time that John makes more than half a million dollars annually from GTY. Totally false,” Phil Johnson, GTY executive director and an elder at MacArthur’s Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California, said in a statement to The Christian Post on Tuesday.

LAFAYETTE, La. â The Diocese of Lafayette says the local attorney who is accused of rape in an investigation related to the Boy Scouts is believed to have used a Lafayette church to hold meetings from 2003 to 2016.
This is the block where the Cajundome is located, as well as much of the UL Athletics complex. The records are not specific as to location; they just list the 400 block of that street.
The complaint was one of 28 turned over to the Lafayette Parish Sheriff s Office in November by the Evangeline Council after the council received them from a commission working on the Boy Scouts of America bankruptcy case.
Lafayette attorney Barry Rozas held a press conference Wednesday to clear his name after his arrest Tuesday for first-degree rape. The complaint was one of 28 provided to the Evangeline Council of the Boy Scouts of America and turned over to the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office in November.
“I completely deny any and all charges made against me by an anonymous alleged victim, they simply did not happen,” said Rozas.
52-year-old Rozas said a commission working on a class-action suit against the Boy Scouts of America created an anonymous hotline.
“That has encouraged false claims made against innocent citizens with no opportunity to confront the accusations. I am one of those innocent citizens,” said Rozas.

The United Methodist Church ended 2020 with a higher rate of giving than was previously projected, given the COVID-19 lockdowns, though it still remains in financial uncertainty.
The UMC General Council on Finance and Administration collected around 79.3% of 2020 U.S. apportionments, or the requested shares of giving that support churchwide ministries, according to UM News.
While that is the lowest collection rate in more than a decade for the UMC, it s also higher than the 70% collection rate previously projected by the GCFA.
