Lafayette attorney denies rape allegations in Boys Scouts case

Lafayette attorney Barry Rozas held a press conference Wednesday to clear his name after his arrest Tuesday for first-degree rape. The complaint was one of 28 provided to the Evangeline Council of the Boy Scouts of America and turned over to the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office in November. “I completely deny any and all charges made against me by an anonymous alleged victim, they simply did not happen,” said Rozas. 52-year-old Rozas said a commission working on a class-action suit against the Boy Scouts of America created an anonymous hotline. “That has encouraged false claims made against innocent citizens with no opportunity to confront the accusations. I am one of those innocent citizens,” said Rozas.
