Each centre to give 500 doses per day The Greater Chennai Corporation will launch temporary vaccination centres at all the 15 zones on Monday.
The civic body on Sunday announced on Twitter the sites of the temporary vaccination centres. Both Covishield and Covaxin will be available at the centres.
Due to supply constraints, Covaxin will be available only for those who are due for second doses.
Corporation schools at seven locations such as 59th Street, Second Main Road, MMDA, Mathur; Coronation Nagar, Korukkupet; Wall Tax Road, Sowcarpet; Madhavaram High Road, Perambur; Market Road, Ayanavaram; Madhanandhapuram, Mugalivakkam and Kamaraj Avenue, Adyar have been converted into vaccination centres.

The Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) is opening up more parcels of vacant land for commercial development in the city in order to generate revenue for the Railway Ministry.
In the latest land parcels, the RLDA proposes to lease out a total of seven acres of land parcels located in various parts of the city for 45 years. According to a press release, the land parcels are available for commercial development in four sites on Wall Tax Road, Pulianthope, and Ayanavaram Railway Colony.
Two sites measuring 2.5 acres each would be available in the Ayanavaram railway colony, a vacant plot of land measuring more than 2 acres in Pulianthope and one on Wall Tax Road.

Heavy downpours resulting from cyclone Nivar have left a section of NSC Bose Road, particularly between the Flower Bazaar police station and the road s intersection the Wall Tax Road, pockmarked.
Motorists and traders call this section of NSC Bose Road the “poor cousin” to the section that is lined with historical buildings including the Madras High Court and the Government Law College.
With traders having resumed their businesses, which include wholesale trade, the movement of vehicles on this section has significantly increased.
