Haridwar Kumbh Mela: 1,553 RSS Volunteers Work 12 Hour Shifts To Assist Cops In Managing Crowd And Traffic RSS volunteers at Haridwar to assist in Kumbh Mela (@friendsofrss/Twitter) For the first time ever, 1,553 Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) volunteers have been appointed as Special Police Officers (SPOs) by Uttarakhand Police for this year’s Kumbh Mela. While 1,053 RSS volunteers are working in the field, the rest are back-up strength. The police have also issued them identity cards, a cap and a jacket. Bhagwat tests COVID +ve, in Nagpur hosp ANI / Updated: Apr 11, 2021, 06:00 IST NAGPUR Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat on Friday has tested positive for COVID-19. “He is admitted to a hospital in Nagpur”, the organisation said. In a tweet by RSS in Hindi on Friday, it read, “Our Sarsanghchalak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Dr. Mohanji Bhagwat ji has tested positive for COVID-19 this afternoon. He is currently having common symptoms of coronavirus and has been admitted to the Kingsway Hospital in Nagpur. He is undergoing a general check-up and exercising caution.” On March 7, Mohan Bhagwat was administered the COVID-19 vaccine.
