This week I caught up with Carlee Atkin, who along with colleagues Tracy Pope and Hannah Southcombe came up with Here Collective, and learnt more about the hottest new business in town.

The New Ohio Theatre s NYC Indie Theatre Film Festival announced the 2021 online film lineup today. NYCITFF offers a selection of new feature-length and short films, filmmaker Q&As, and a conversation with prolific screenwriter and playwright Qui Nguyen between March 10-14.

A grieving South Gate family that lost three loved ones to COVID-19 within one month has an urgent plea as California struggles to combat a pandemic that has resulted in more than 23,000 deaths statewide and left hospitals scrambling to help the sick.
Three patriarchs of the Carrillo family were always by each other’s sides. Dad Damian, his brother Juan, and Damian’s son Jose. The three filled Ana Carrillo’s heart with joy.

The Community Foundation serving Southwest Colorado spearheads regional participation in Colorado Gives Day an easy, online initiative for donors to contribute to nonprofits across Colorado.
This year’s Colorado Gives Day, Tuesday, Dec. 8, was record-breaking, with $50 million donated to nonprofit organizations statewide and more than $485,000 donated to organizations in the southwest corner of the state.
Local donors are able to choose from 88 organizations listed on the website, swcogives.org, and make safe, secure, online gifts to local organizations directly serving the five-county region of Archuleta, Dolores, La Plata, Montezuma and San Juan counties.
“Each of the last four years that the Community Foundation has led this effort we have seen giving increase substantially,” said Briggen Wrinkle, executive director of the Community Foundation. “This year, the jump in donations was astounding $200,000 more than last year’s gi
