SAN ANGELO Reports of a homicide over the weekend in north San Angelo circulated online, but police dispelled the rumor Monday, according to an email with police.
Rumors of a crime scene in the 600 block of 19th Street on Sunday night originally stated a person died in a suspected homicide. Tracy Fincher, assistant chief of SAPD, dismissed the rumor Monday afternoon. There was not a homicide over the weekend, Fincher said in an emailed response. We responded to a deceased person, this investigation is ongoing and is looking like a death by natural causes at this time.

Police Identify Softball Tourney Shooting Suspect
According to SAPD Officer Tracy Fincher, the suspect identified in reference to this shooting investigation was identified as Eliseo Rivera Jr. (4/28/98)
Multiple witnesses on scene identified Rivera as the subject who drew a weapon and fired two rounds into the ground. The rounds ricocheted at which time shrapnel/debris hit three adult males and a child. All were treated for minor injuries. Rivera was taken into custody without incident. A handgun was also recovered at the scene.
Rivera was charged with four counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
This is an ongoing investigation.
