The daughter of slain Jason Corbett has slammed her “former stepmother” for making her an “orphan”.
Sarah Corbett Lynch, 14, and her brother Jack, 16, lost their father when he was killed by Molly Martens and her father Tom as he slept in his home in Walburg, North Carolina, on August 2, 2015.
The 39-year-old was bludgeoned to death with an aluminium baseball bat and a paving stone.
Martens, 37, and her 71-year-old father, a former FBI agent, were convicted of his murder in August 2017.

THE KILLERS OF Limerick man Jason Corbett, Molly and Tom Martens, may apply for bail tomorrow while they consider a plea bargain offer of manslaughter or facing a full retrial on second degree murder charges.
According to Jason Corbett’s sister, Tracey Corbett Lynch, a bail hearing for the pair has been set aside for 2pm tomorrow (7pm Irish time) at Davidson County Courthouse in North Carolina.

The death of Jason Corbett, an Irish businessman who had relocated to North Carolina, sparked headlines in his native country and turned Irish eyes to Davidson County, south of Winston-Salem, where he lived with his American wife, Molly.
The trial of Molly Corbett and her father Thomas Martens, the former agent, hinged on the pair s plea of self-defense. During a five-week trial, Martens testified that he woke to find Jason Corbett choking his daughter and threatening to kill her, and that he bludgeoned his son-in-law in a bedroom melee he feared would take his life. Jurors, unconvinced, convicted both
