I have been looking forward to “The Prom” because I love the cast and I love musicals. And, I never miss a Meryl Streep movie.
In my opinion, multiple Academy Award-winner Streep is the greatest actress alive, and in “The Prom,” she doesn’t disappoint. She is joined by a stellar cast, including Academy Award-winner Nicole Kidman, Keegan-Michael Key, Kerry Washington, James Corden, Tracy Ullman and Mary Kay Place. The singing and acting are superb.
Only thing, even though Jo Ellen Pellman was wonderful, I had trouble thinking of her as a high school kid. She is a little too mature, but she has a wonderful voice, so her age can be overlooked.

Once upon a time hard times, as it were in an unrelenting, kick-you-when-you’re-down New York City, a real-life couple were struggling and fighting and having a thoroughly shit time. According to “Fairytale of New York” co-writer Jem Finer, this relatable and timeless dynamic became the basis for what some might consider one of the most fantastic and few-and-far-between-year-round holiday hits of all time. Pogues lead-singer Shane MacGowan went to work on the lyrics, and a twisted, rollicking as-only-the-Pogues-could-do-it gorgeous-in-spite-of-itself fairytale was born.
A band like the Pogues have managed to both define and defy tradition with insatiable poetry that includes:
Hugh Grant in Death to 2020
Death to 2020 will see a number of recognisable faces pop up throughout the episode. In addition to Samuel L. Jackson and Lisa, actors
Hugh Grant, Tracy Ullman, Kumail Nanjiani and Diane Morgan will also make an appearance. The stars will provide a mix of fictional sketches and monologues as they discuss and theorise all the events of the past 12 months.
The official synopsis reads: 2020: A year so [insert adjective of choice here], even the creators of
Black Mirror couldn t make it up… but that doesn t mean they don t have a little something to add.
Death to 2020 is a comedy event that tells the story of the dreadful year that was and perhaps still is?

The official trailer for Charlie Brooker s upcoming Netflix mockumentary Death To 2020 has been unveiled, weeks after it was first teased by the Black Mirror creator.
And Hugh Grant, 60, is seen getting into a character as a grey bespectacled man in the clip, brandishing a glass of liquor as he prepares to sit down for an interview.
He joins Samuel L. Jackson, 72, who complains about the prospect of being in the trailer s intro – which he is – and Lisa Kudrow, 57, who plays a political spokesperson.

As various stars appear onscreen, narrator Laurence Fishburne says: 2020, a year whose story couldn t be told until now because it was still happening.

In a nutshell: If you are looking for a humorous way to usher out what was a cluster-you-know-what of a year, Netflix s Death to 2020 premieres this Sunday. The show takes a satirical look at the past year. The fake documentary is an irreverent middle finger to everything that made this year the pits.
The makers of Black Mirror, the television show turned Netflix Original, have produced a mockumentary titled Death to 2020. The film s creators, Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones, poke fun at the year that most of us would prefer to put behind us and forget. Death to 2020 debuts on December 27 as a funny end to a terrible year.
