With warmer weather on the way and the possibility of more things to do, Saskatchewanâs NDP is calling on the provincial government to do more to get people out â safely â this summer.
The Opposition party wants the government to waive all provincial park gate fees for Saskatchewan people for the summer season, and for that to start before the May long weekend.
NDP Leader Ryan Meili said itâs important that everyone is still cautious due to COVID-19 as we head into summer.
âI know Saskatchewan people have been doing everything they can to keep each other safe,â Meili said Thursday.

The Opposition party wants the government to waive all provincial park gate fees for Saskatchewan people for the summer season, and for that to start before the May long weekend.
NDP Leader Ryan Meili said it’s important that everyone is still cautious due to COVID-19 as we head into summer.
“I know Saskatchewan people have been doing everything they can to keep each other safe,” Meili said Thursday.
Next, the council reviewed the minutes of the last council meeting before Councillor Rowland made a motion to accept the minutes as reviewed; motion carried. Carrying on, the council reviewed the List of Accounts. After a couple of questions, Councillor Petracek made a motion to accept the List of Accounts; motion carried.
Administrative Reports The Public Works Report was reviewed by the council. There was a short discussion including looking into purchasing a packer for patching potholes around town. Planning & Development was next. Tammy MacDonald gave her report to the council and informed them that there have been a couple of inquiries for the property that the town has for sale for “less than fair market value”. MacDonald recommended the council accept the offer to purchase as long as it follows the standard requirements of the lots in that subdivision. Councillor Bot made a motion to accept the offer; motion carried.

People can start booking their campsites throughout Saskatchewan next week, but it will look different than the 2020 season.
