MUMBAI, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) India s premier container port Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) has launched the Continuous Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Station (CAAQMS) to achieve sustainability goals and Green Port status, said a statement by the country s west coast port on Friday.
The newly launched CAAQMS station will monitor real time Air Quality parameters like Particulate Matter (10, & 2.5), Sulphur Dioxide (SO2), Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2), Ammonia (NH3), Ozone, CO, NOx, NO and VOCs.
Six weather-related parameters data as temperature, rainfall, humidity, solar radiation, wind speed and direction will also be monitored at the station, said JNPT, which operates five container terminals apart from a general cargo and liquid cargo terminal.
