Thames Water has been fined £4 million after untreated sewage escaped from sewers below London into a park and a river.
A court heard dozens of high-priority alarms would have told staff about the incident, but were either missed or ignored, leading to pollution of a popular park, woodland and the Hogsmill River, in New Malden.

The Mississippi Commission on Environmental Quality (“MCEQ”) and Tishomingo County Airport (Belmont) (“Airport”) entered into a May 18th Agreed Order (“AO”) addressing an alleged violation of the Mississippi Code related to discharges of waste into waters of the state. See Order No. 7122 21.
The alleged violation involved expiration of a general stormwater permit.
The AO states that MCEQ on December 12, 2019, conducted a Compliance Evaluation Inspection (“CEI”) at the Airport which is located in Belmont, Mississippi. The AO cites the following alleged violation:

On 12 May 2021, at Norwich Magistrates Court, Colin Barnes, of CT Barnes Autos admitted storing end of life motor vehicles and car parts illegally.
The end of life motor vehicles were stored with tyres, gear boxes and suspension units at his site in Podmore Lane, Scarning.
Deferring sentence until November 2021, Magistrates warned Barnes that failure to clear the site within the next five months, could mean a prison sentence.
