ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WIS) - An Orangeburg County woman has been arrested in connection with a hit and run that occurred last year.
Officials say 23-year-old Ashley Charena Modest Williams struck two people with her vehicle on May 28, 2020.
One of the victims sustained injuries that required medical attention.
Williams has been charged with two counts of attempted murder and hit and run.
SLED is assisting the Orangeburg County Sheriffâs Office with the investigation.
The case will be prosecuted by the 1st Circuit Solicitorâs Office.

CONWAY, S.C. (WMBF) – A Myrtle Beach man was sentenced to 10 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to a heroin charge earlier this week.
According to information from the 15th Circuit Solicitor’s Office, 38-year-old Laquincy Peterson pleaded guilty Feb. 8 to second-offense possession with intent to distribute heroin before Judge Kristi Curtis.
Curtis sentenced Peterson to 10 years in prison.

SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WIS) - Agents with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division have arrested a man in connection with an officer-involved shooting that occurred over the weekend.
Pharis Leon Blair, 37, has been charged with 2nd-degree assault and battery.
On January 30, a deputy with the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call about a hostile suspect.
Officials say Blair attacked the deputy and repeatedly struck him on the head and in the face.

FLORENCE, S.C. (WMBF) – A Florence man is accused of conspiring with inmates to help them escape from prison.
South Carolina Law Enforcement Division agents and members of the South Carolina Department of Corrections Office of Intelligence and Investigations arrested 23-year-old Dallas Richardson on Thursday.
He is charged with criminal conspiracy.
A warrant affidavit shows that on Dec. 27, 2020, Waiters used a cellphone to communicate with inmates at the McCormick Correctional Institute.
