BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. The Dixie Fire has rapidly burned 113,006 acres and is only 18% contained, according to Cal Fire s Thursday evening update.
The fire burned to the west shore of Butt Lake, Cal Fire Operations Section Chief Mike Wink said. Crews were able to make direct access near the communities of Caribu and around Highway 70. A spot fire developed west of the community of Twain. Another blaze, the Fly Fire developed near Huff Mountain, Wink said.

PLUMAS COUNTY, Calif. - New evacuation orders have been issued due to the Dixie Fire, according to the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office.
The Sheriff’s Office has issued evacuations for Greenville and Crescent Mills.
This included Round Valley Reservoir, Dixie Canyon, Indian Falls, Long Valley, Dixie Canyon south to Indian Falls and south of Indian Falls to the intersection of Highway 70 and Highway 89.

The Dixie fire burning in Northern Californiaâs Butte and Plumas counties mushroomed to more than 100,000 acres Thursday, becoming the second blaze in the state this year to surpass the megafire milestone.
The aggressive fire has now destroyed at least eight structures, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, or Cal Fire, said, and at least 1,500 more are threatened as it continues its slow crawl east toward Lake Almanor.
The fire was at 103,910 acres and 17% containment Thursday morning, Cal Fire said.
It is the second megafire in the state this year. Days ago, the 105,000-acre Sugar fire in Butte County garnered the designation, for a fire surpassing 100,000 acres.
