Angela Donohoo of Bethalto and Ronald Motil of Maryville were recently approved by the Circuit Judges of the district as new associate judges serving Madison and Bond Counties. The vacancies were created upon the election of former Associate Judge Steve Stobbs to the circuit bench and the resignation of Associate Judge John Julian.  Donohoo has been practicing law for 18 years in her own practice, Levo-Donohoo, in Troy.  She is a past president of the Madison County Bar Association, is a board member of Hope Rescues and is a former president of the Board of the Metro East Humane Society.  Motil is a longtime attorney in the county and is also a past president of the Madison County Bar Association, as well as the Tri-City Bar Association. Any vaccine currently in the state has someone’s name on it.”

The Federal Circuit Finds Standing for Appeal Based on Risk of Infringement; Vacates Board Determination that Raytheon Claims are Nonobvious The Federal Circuit recently vacated and remanded a Patent Trial and Appeal Board (the Board) decision finding a Raytheon patent related to turbine engines nonobvious. The Court first found that General Electric Company (GE) had standing to appeal based on a substantial risk of infringement. In doing so, the Court found GE had cured its deficient standing in a prior appeal related to the turbine engines. Further, the Court vacated and remanded the decision of nonobviousness, finding the Board decision lacked substantial evidence of teaching away and lack of motivation to combine.
