Daytona Beach, FL - An Arizona man remains in custody with no bond after police say he traveled to Daytona Beach to cause hell at the Daytona Beach Police Department. Police were made aware of the threat, which was made on social media, on June 27 after an anonymous call reported the post. The caller also identified the user as 31-year-old Kentay Thomas. On July 5, Thomas announced on social media that he traveled to Daytona Beach and brought firearms with him. According to a police report, further investigation revealed that Thomas might be a member of the New Black Panther Party (NBBP) and the Not (expletive) Around Coalition (NFAC). Per investigators, both organizations carry ideology of supporting violence and murder/attempted murder on a law enforcement officer, which was a catalyst in launching the investigation. Members of a Georgia State Patrol SWAT team, several U.S. marshals and two Daytona Beach police officers served a search warrant on the farm described by Daytona Beach Police Chief Jakari Young as “affiliated” with the NFAC, the Not F Around Coalition, a Black militia group in which Wallace had been a member.
Wallace might have been asleep in the treehouse at the time of the raid, said Frank Lempka, a spokesman for the U.S. Marshals Service in Georgia. Whether he was or wasn’t, the bright lights and loud announcement got his attention. He looked out of the treehouse and that s what he saw. He didn t have much of a choice, Lempka said.
