A fundraiser by KRVS is giving those who donate a virtual cooking experience.
With your donation, you and three friends get access to a cooking lesson by award-winning chef, author, and tv host Lidia Bastianich.
They ll send you the menu and ingredients to make it happen from the comfort of your own home. You ll have all the ingredients for a three-course meal, explained Pat Mould, interim station manager at KRVS. So it s going to be a fun Zoom activity. You can follow along, you can actually get into group rooms with other friends. We just think it s a fun way to spend a great meal with friends and family.

The Lafayette Regional Airport is providing opportunities for rental car companies to have contracts with the airport.
An outreach event was held Wednesday for rental car suppliers. Airports nationwide that accept FAA funding, which the Lafayette airport is receiving for its new terminal, must participate in disadvantaged business enterprise efforts.
Committee meetings are being held nationwide regarding the contracts; Lafayette is one of many participating airports.
The committee also answered questions about the development of the new airport terminal, which is scheduled to open in September.

Festival International unveiled the 2021 official artwork, along with this year s pin and poster, during an event held Saturday evening.
The reveal happened at the Acadiana Center for the Arts during April ArtWalk.
Three local artists came together to contribute to the design and encapsulate this year s theme. This year it s been really interesting to see the collaboration unfold between a weaver, a painter, and a potter, and to see what they came up with, said Carly Viator, marketing coordinator for Festival International. Our theme this year is unity and diversity and they totally nailed it.

LAFAYETTE, La. â Oak trees around Acadiana might be a beautiful sight, but theyâre causing some pretty bad allergy symptoms to some peopleâ like puffy eyes and runny nose.
âThe yellow stuff people are seeing all over their car right now is pine and oak,â said allergist Dr. Andrew Collins. âEven though pine is one of the more visible types of pollen, it really serves as more of a signal to the start of allergy season.â
Dr. Collins says there can be an overlap in the symptoms for COVID-19, a cold, or spring allergies, which can also be known as hay fever.
Festival of Words to feature three artists, take place Nov. 5 & 6

The 14th Annual Festival of Words is set for this November and will feature three southern artists and two days of memorable events.
Festival of Words will take place on Friday, November 5, and Saturday, November 6, and will highlight Grammy Award winner Louis Michot, poet, visual artists Malaika Favorite and Mississippi Poet Laureate Aimee Nezhukumatathil.
The festival events include creative writing workshops for students and the community, a community stage for open mic, and Drive-By Poetry, in which youth give dramatic presentations of festival authors writings.
