Commerce and Industry Minister Suresh Prabhu on Tuesday said India will host a meeting of about 40 WTO members in February to muster support for food security and other issues. We are trying to call a meeting of almost 30-40 countries (WTO ministerial) in Delhi in February just to help multi-lateral process, Prabhu said here at an event organised by Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC).

Sharing the message on social media Essel Group chairman and Rajya Sabha member Dr Subhash Chandra said celebrations will take place this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The organisation will next celebrate its 100th year.
Taking to Twitter, Dr Subhash Chandra wrote: Today is landmark day in our history being 95th year of existence of Essel Group. Congratulations to all past, present & future Esselites. We are not celebrating due to Covid. We will celebrate 100th year together. God bless us all.

On Tuesday, former Union Minister Suresh Prabhu demanded policy interventions for the MSMEs to help them tide over the COVID-induced challenges. In a letter addressed to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Prabhu mentioned that he had been approached by several organizations representing MSMEs. According to him, the lockdown in multiple states had put the small businesses under tremendous stress. Requesting her to look into their genuine grievances, he called upon the Finance Ministry and RBI to take requisite steps.
