NEW YORK â A judge has sentenced to life in prison a Bangladeshi immigrant who plotted to kill as many people as he could in New York City s busiest subway station.
The victim screamed for help from the trackbed. Sanchez walked to the edge of the platform, looked at her and walked away, the Bronx district attorney says. A train on the opposite track alerted the oncoming train that the victim was on the ground and the latter was able to brake before hitting her. A good Samaritan pulled her to safety. She was treated for injuries at a hospital and later released.
In recounting the terrifying moment to Telemundo 48 and 47 afterward, the victim said she saw the next train approaching. I yelled for help because I saw the next train was coming soon. I was panicked and terrified that the train was going to run over me, she said.
BROOKLYN, New York (WABC) A search is underway for a man who struck a teenager in the head with a glass bottle while on a subway train in Brooklyn.
Police say the 18-year-old woman and the suspect got into an argument Wednesday at around 8 p.m., while on a northbound N train.
The man then grabbed a liquor bottle, hit her on the forehead with it, then got off the train at 4th Avenue and 36th Street.
The victim suffered a cut to her forehead. She was rushed to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn.
She was treated and released.
The attacker is described as a man in his 20 s, with a medium complexion, approximately 5 7 tall, weighing 130 lbs., with a slim build and a ponytail.
It happened just before 9 p.m. Tuesday at the East Broadway F train station near Rutgers Street.
Eyewitness News obtained exclusive surveillance video of the incident, which shows the assailant waiting until the 56-year-old victim walks past him to launch the attack.

He punches the victim and pushes him to the ground, where he punches him in the eye and elbows him in the mouth repeatedly.
The construction worker, Teoh Ming Soon, is an immigrant from Malaysia and has been in the U.S. for about 20 years.
GRAVESEND, Brooklyn (WABC) Police have released video of a violent attack and robbery in a Brooklyn subway station.
The female suspect grabbed the 60-year-old female victim from behind while she was using a MetroCard machine at the 86th Street N station on Sunday.
The video shows the suspect throwing the victim to the ground, punching and kicking the woman repeatedly, and dragging her across the floor as he tries to steal her purse.
Moments later the suspect is seen on another security camera breathing heavily, wearing the same mask, and holding her rolled up blue hoodie in her hand.
