25-year-old homicide suspect shot dead by Cleveland police after pointing gun at officer East 134th Street crime scene (Source: WOIO) By Chris Anderson | April 15, 2021 at 9:32 AM EDT - Updated April 15 at 12:28 PM CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - A suspect was shot dead by Cleveland police after he brandished a firearm at an officer early Thursday morning. 19 News learned that a 25-year-old male violent fugitive was shot dead by a Cleveland police officer around 8 a.m. near the intersections of East 134th Street and Beachwood Avenue. Officers initially responded to the scene after receiving a call from citizens about the suspect, who had a warrant out for his arrest in connection to a homicide that occurred approximately eight blocks away, because he was “terrorizing” the neighborhood, according to Police Chief Calvin Williams.

Officers initially responded to a resident’s call about the man around 4 a.m. Thursday and returned about four hours later, Williams said. A gun was found near the man’s body, Williams said. The 25-year-old man, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. The man was wanted for a homicide that occurred about eight blocks from where he was killed, Williams said.
