1 person died every 14 mins in 3 days in Bangladesh

Dhaka, Apr 19 (IANS): In Bangladesh, where the overall Covid-19 death toll currently stood at 10,385, one infected person died every 14 minutes in the last three days.
On Sunday, the country registered 102 new fatalities, the highest single-day spike since the first reported Covid-19 death on March 18, 2020.
Both on Saturday and Friday, there were 101 new deaths.
Of the deceased, 59 were male and 43 were female. Sixty-three of them were aged above 60, 23 were between the age range 51-60, 14 were between 41-50, and two people were aged between 31-40.
Sixty-eight of the victims were reported in Dhaka, 22 in Chittagong, four each in Mymensingh and Barisal, three in Rajshahi, and one in Khulna.

Apr 17 (IANS): Twenty-four more people have been arrested in Bangladesh in connection with the massacre by the militants of the militant outfit Hefazat-e-Islam. So far, 54 cases have been filed and 261 militants have been arrested over the violence.
On March 27, at least five persons were killed and around 50 others, including 25 policemen, injured in attack by the Hefazat militants and clashes between members of the law enforcement agencies and the militants at Nandanpur in Sadar upazila.
Vandalism by the militant outfit Hefazat-e-Islam was carried out in Brahmanbaria from March 26 to 31 March. The arrests were made from different parts of the district, according to the special branch of Brahmanbaria district police on Friday.

We don t want to see our expatriates face any difficulty. that is why the Bangladesh government has made coordinated efforts to help expatriates return to their workplaces in five countries on special flights from Saturday without any hassle, Foreign Affairs Minister, Dr A.K. Abdul Momen told IANS on Friday.
The government decided to allow airlines, including state-owned Biman Bangladesh Airlines, to operate the special flights.
