NEW DELHI, India – Foreign tourists could soon make a quick dash to Agra to see the Taj Mahal or to Jaipur for a glimpse of the Hawa Mahal if they plan their transit time in India to allow such visits.
The government is considering relaxing visa rules with the tourism ministry proposing a transit visa for 48 to 72 hours to encourage these foreign tourists to plan a quick stopover in India . The scheme could be implemented initially in Delhi and Mumbai in a few months.

This strong message was sought to be conveyed by the Nepal officials and tourism industry leaders who addressed the meeting in New Delhi on July 7 of the Indian Association of Tour Operators.
Director General of Tourism Tulasi Prasad Gautam and Ashok Pokharel, President, Nepal Association of Tour Operators, led a large delegation from Nepal to India and said that the major tourist places in Nepal were not hit by the quake and the places which were hit have been largely restored.
