MUMBAI: As India continues to battle a ravaging second wave of Covid, many companies are showing solidarity by extending monetary and non-monetary benefits to families of employees claimed by the coronavirus. India has recorded more than 2.4 lakh Covid deaths, according to the latest Union health ministry data.
In an attempt to ease the pain of families of deceased employees, several organisations are offering benefits like a one-time compassionate payment, financial sponsorship for education of their children and an employment opportunity to the spouses. The number of Covid casualties at individual firms is, however, not known as regulations
