The Flames’ Football team celebrated its second consecutive Cure Bowl victory and first ever win over an FBS Top 25 program, edging former Big South Conference rival Coastal Carolina 37-34 in overtime on Dec. 26, 2020, in Orlando, Fla.
The best season in school history is now complete with the Liberty University Football team receiving a program-record end of the year national ranking.
With the 2020 college football season now in the books following the conclusion of Monday night’s national championship game, the final Associated Press and the Amway Coaches Poll were released today.
The Flames finished the season ranked No. 17 in the Associated Press poll and No. 18 in the Coaches Poll for the 2020 season.

Khristian Zachary, a defensive lineman from Georgia who is the highest ranked Liberty University Football recruit in program history, highlights an 18-player December National Signing Day class that will strengthen the Flames’ Fall 2021 roster.
Head Football Coach Hugh Freeze, who signed a six-year contract extension in October that will keep him at Liberty through 2026, announced the incoming class through a virtual press conference on Wednesday.
