Gabby Dempster said she didn’t know how the COVID-19 pandemic would affect her fireworks stand this year.
So far, she said, it’s been a pleasant surprise.
“To be quite honest between this crazy south Louisiana weather, the huge firework shortage and COVID, I was really worried about this firework season,” said Dempster, who owns the TNR Fireworks stand at 752 La. 20 in Thibodaux. “However, we are already off to a great start. The rain doesn’t seem to be keeping people away, and after only a couple days of being open, we have had quite a few customers.”
