Primary schools to reopen as planned on Monday with secondary schools to reopen in full on January 18  | Updated: 16:39, 30 December 2020 The majority of primary schools will reopen as planned on Monday, January 4, with secondary school pupils due to take exams returning the following week. Secondary schools will open to pupils in Year 11 and 13 on Monday, January 11, with all secondary school pupils and college students to return on January 18. In a small number of areas where the infection rates are highest, we will implement our existing contingency framework such as vulnerable children and the children of key workers attending for face to face lessons.

Coun Andrew Tennant hit out over the handling of some of the area’s worst eyesores, including Long Sutton’s The Bull Hotel, during the council’s last planning meeting. Members were asked to approve a new register of brown field sites, which includes the Bridge Hotel in Sutton Bridge and the former Gardman site in Moulton, that could be developed.

Research team at hospital which serves Long Sutton and Sutton Bridge celebrates a record breaking year  | Updated: 16:56, 21 December 2020 Hospital staff are celebrating a record year in supporting a variety of clinical and research trials, which includes making a major contribution to a COVID-19 study. The Research Team at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn, which serves Sutton Bridge and Long Sutton, has thanked patients for supporting its work. The ten-strong team have already recruited over 1,100 patients to participate in research trials for new treatments. This is almost double their target of 674 patients for the year with 5 months still to go – their best year on record.

Based on the character from The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, part of The Chronicles of Narnia series written by C. S. Lewis, Gaby describes each one-minute to three-minute episode as a way “to make people a bit happier in rough times”.
