The Board of Trustees for the Johnson County Healthcare Center voted to accept their proposed operating budget for the coming 2022 fiscal year.
Business Manager Becky Rodriguez went over her numbers for expected revenue and expenditures for the year before the board voted to accept.
The operating budget will be officially approved at a special meeting later this month.
Also approved was the 2022 capital budget for roughly $283,000; and the facility’s employee pension contribution which was approved at 3% of their annual salary.
The board also approved removing former board member Bill Dooley and former CEO Sean McCallister from the facility’s bank signature cards and adding new CEO Luke Senden.

McCallister will be moving to Meridian, Idaho and will be running an ambulatory surgery/gastroenterology center.
He said they recruited him and the idea of being closer to family was what finally made the decision easier.
He wanted to thank everyone for the opportunity he was given at the JCHC.
McCallister said everyone at the healthcare center will move forward from here, and that healthcare in Johnson County “is in really good hands.”

McCallister talked about what he was most proud of during his two years as CEO.
He said the decisions and risks he has taken are the biggest of his career, and it was “sink or swim,” due to the dire financial situation when he took over, which has turned around since then.
He does have one regret concerning his time with the JCHC.
