manich@leaderherald.com GLOVERSVILLE The city Planning Board on Tuesday night approved a project for a new Hoffman Car Wash on South Kingsboro Avenue following a public hearing at City Hall. Construction may begin later this summer. Board consultant Sean Geraghty said Wednesday that approval of a subdivision and site plan related to the car wash on former Travis Diner property was given to the Hoffman Development Corp. The firm approached the board last month with its site plan. “The property is being subdivided,” Geraghty said. “It will be right through the lot.” He said the diner building won’t be demolished and will be kept intact in case a future developer wants to turn it into a restaurant again.

aonyon@leaderherald.com GLOVERSVILLE The Planning Board will hold a public hearing next month on a special permit application seeking approval for the relocation of the Rob Constantine Recovery Community and Outreach Center’s recovery program to the Center of Hope at 33 Bleecker St. The Planning Board on Tuesday opened its review of the special permit application submitted by the Gloversville Free Methodist Church seeking approval for a change of occupancy to house the Rob Constantine recovery program in existing office space within the church’s mission and outreach building, the Center of Hope. The proposed use is allowed under city zoning code in the commercial and downtown urban core form-based overlay zoning districts in which the building is located.

manich@leaderherald.com JOHNSTOWN The Fulton County Planning Board recently recommended certain vegetation and soil stipulations for a proposed solar project off Route 30 in the town of Perth. The board recently approved the largest solar project ever in the county off Bishop Road. But this project is a different smaller one, albeit also in Perth. County consultant Sean Geraghty told the planning board that property owner Adelbert Pooler is doing a 3.5 megawatt solar farm along the east side of Route 30. The project currently has a special permit application before the Perth Town Planning Board. Geraghty said Pooler has a parcel of about 27 acres the solar operation would lie on.
