Students were asked to pen an essay surrounding the question, “What history in your community is worth saving?” Callie Clark s answer? Westfest and Czech heritage. As a finalist, the China Spring Middle School seventh grader will receive a $100 gift card as well as complementary items from the Sons of the Republic of Texas and the Texas General Land Office.
