Patiala (Punjab) [India], April 18 (ANI): Three centenarians of Punjab s Patiala have emerged as an inspiration for others to join the COVID-19 vaccination drive in the district.
Citing an example, Jattan Kaur, 105 of Village Biradwal area, 104-year-old Sita Devi from Kalyan and Najar Singh from Rakhra area have emerged as the face of vaccination drive in Patiala by getting inoculated themselves against the coronavirus.
Jattan Kaur administered the vaccine at Biradwal village along with her son and grandson. When we were getting ready for visiting vaccination camp organised by the administration with the help of village Panchayat, her mother expressed her strong will to get the COVID jab first, her son Baldev Singh said, according to an official statement on Sunday.

Originally from Edinburgh, Colette Allen has worked at the youth charity Hackney Quest for 20 years and was nominated by the council in the scheme honouring those making a difference to their local communities during the Covid pandemic.

New Delhi, March 14 : A private hospital in Delhi performed a successful hip bone fracture surgery of an 82-year-old woman having anaemia, uncontrolled diabetes, a barely functioning heart, the hospitals said on Sunday.
PSRI Hospital, which performed the surgery, said that the case involved a high-risk of mortality due to the patient s multiple comorbid conditions. The patient was a diabetic and was under regular medication due to a serious heart ailment. Besides, she was also found anaemic amid the surgery. The case was complex and such patients generally carry a high risk of mortality, Dr. Gaurav Bhardwaj, Director, Sports Injury, Joint Preservation & Replacement Surgery at the hospital said.
