Money continues to pour into Seattle races for mayor and city council. For the candidates looking to replace outgoing at-large Councilmember Lorena Gonzalez, it appears to be a three-way race in the early stages.
Leading the pack in money received from individual contributions is Fremont Brewery founder Sara Nelson, having brought in nearly $90,000 as of Tuesday, April 6, spread out across 466 donors.
Prominent donors to Nelson’s campaign include current mayoral candidate Lance Randall, Communications Director for the King County Executive’s office Alex Fryer, former Seattle Councilmember Heidi Wills, and 2019 council candidates Brendan Kolding and Logan Bowers.

not sweep dangerous and growing homeless encampments on two school properties.
In emails obtained by the Jason Rantz Show on KTTH, Seattle School Board President Chandra Hampson and Director Zachary DeWolf stopped tried to stop Mayor Jenny Durkan’s office from sweeping encampments near Meany Middle School on Capitol Hill, and at Broadview Thomson K-8 in Bitter Lake.
Hampson demanded sweeps “never” occur in the city, including on school grounds. DeWolf empathically emailed the city, “this is not an ask for a sweep!”

After the Seattle School Board appointed him to represent South Seattle s District 7 back in 2019, on Tuesday board vice president Brandon Hersey announced his reelection campaign for the very same position.
So far he s the only person running for the seat, which is understandable given the particular stressors of the part-time, unstaffed job.
In January, District 4 director Eden Mack resigned her post on the board, citing a dysfunctional culture full of scandals and lawsuits. Before Mack wrote her letter trashing the institution, Seattle superintendent Denise Juneau dipped after KUOW s Ann Dornfeld revealed systemic child abuse at Seattle Public Schools. Meanwhile, racial gaps continue to grow despite the annual promises from leaders to narrow them, a problem the pandemic has no doubt exacerbated in a lot ways.
Seattle schools want to keep dangerous home encampments on their property
Radio host Jason Rantz keeps up with the outrageous politics of Seattle, but the latest could be the worst. A dangerous homeless encampment of potentially criminal and drug-abusing people is on two school properties. The school administration won’t allow a sweep.
When it comes to the safety of the children or the convenience of homeless drug addicts, the administration would rather see the children in danger. They don’t believe in sweeps.
