KINGSVILLE, Texas â Dr. Cissy Reynolds Perez says she knew Kingsville ISD was having financial and academic issues before she became the District s superintendant.
She s from Kingsville.
And soon after she took the position last August, right in the middle of the pandemic, she asked the Texas Association of School Business Officials to do an audit a financial analysis of the district.
The audit revealed the District is facing bankruptcy. If we stay down this road, yeah. We cannot afford to lose money every year. We just can not.

KINGSVILLE, Texas The Kingsville Independent School District is said to be in millions of dollars in debt and administrators are looking at ways to get out of that financial predicament. Saw that the district was in a $4.5 million deficit so I was trying to find exactly what led to that and also what led to the decline in the academics as well, Superintendent Dr. Cissy Reynolds-Perez said.

KINGSVILLE, Texas â The coronavirus pandemic has affected many essential workers who put their best foot forward in helping our community manage the pressure. This also includes educators who guide young minds into bigger and better things.
Over in Kleberg County, workers with Kingsville ISD got the opportunity to receive their first dose of the Moderna vaccine. The distribution began at 10:30 a.m. at H.M. King High School. Just over 90 workers, including cafeteria workers, administrators and teachers, got their first dose within the district.
