RESIDENTS in Breightmet are being urged to be wary after a man blatantly tried to open the front door of a house before attempting to gain entry into three vehicles. The would-be burglar was caught on camera outside a home on Breightmet Fold Lane after the occupants’ front door security system was alerted by the culprit’s movement. In a 30-second CCTV clip, the man – wearing a camouflage face mask, a New York baseball cap and dark clothing – walks up to the front door and tries to open it before realising it is locked. He then turns around and tries to break into the residents’ car, van and a neighbour’s vehicle – but he failed with each attempt before leaving.
