Red Bull announces Solo Q qualifier dates

Red Bull Gaming announced the dates Tuesday for the U.S. and Canadian qualifiers for Solo Q 2021, its 1v1 League of Legends tournament.
Winners of the qualifiers, which begin later this month, will secure a spot in the respective U.S. and Canada Finals, which is one step closer to joining the prestigious global final at the end of the year.
U.S. Regional Qualifier dates:
June 27 National Open Qualifier 1
July 10 Atlanta
July 31 San Francisco, Orlando and Dallas
Aug. 14 Salt Lake City
Aug. 28 Boston and Columbus, Ohio

Red Bull Kumite London is a new edition to the major invitational fighting game event, and it s set to take place late next month. Fans can look forward to some high quality Street Fighter 5 Season 5 action, as well as a Guilty Gear Strive showcase before its June 2021 release date.

It would appear that a number of developers have found themselves out of a job over at Fable creator Peter Molyneux’s current studio, 22cans. The studio recently confirmed that a number of employees had been let go in a round of layoffs. However, it also claims that work continues unhindered on its latest project.
The news of 22cans’ layoffs was revealed in a recent report by GamesIndustry.biz. In a correspondence with GI.biz, 22cans had revealed that employees had been laid off for a number of factors including redundancy, though an exact number of layoffs was not disclosed.

CORNWALL, Ontario – Zackary Maloney, 10, has a passion for video games, and has found a new way to express and share that passion with his The Game Kid podcast.
Zack has created eight podcast episodes so far, which he records, edits and publishes himself on a website that he manages thegamekid.ca.
“My dad told me about how he did a podcast,” Zack explained. “I thought it was a good way to share my ideas and ask questions.”
With some help from his dad, Shawn Maloney, Zack has interviewed a series of guests related to the fields of technology and gaming including former Sony employee Jenny Outram, Molly Gatt, a writer for Red Bull Gaming, Joshua Redmond, a Disruptive Technology Consultant with Deloitte Digital, and most recently Robin Sharma, a researcher at McGill University
