Source: Cambridge Biomedical Campus A design team including Hawkins Brown and White Arkitekter has been appointed to draw up plans for the £200m Cambridge Children’s Hospital project. Hawkins Brown was chosen for its expertise in clinical research and the UK healthcare sector, while Sweden’s White Arkitekter has global healthcare experience including recently delivering the Queen Silvia Children’s Hospital in Gothenburg. The hospital will be built on the Cambridge biomedical campus, whose tenants currently include covid-19 vaccine creator AstraZeneca, pharma giant GlaxoSmithKline and Cancer Research UK. It will also be home to the Cambridge Cancer Research Hospital, which was one of the 40 hospitals given funding as part of the government’s hospital building programme.
