Haines Displacement Relief

Haines, AK (KINY) - Organizations are collaborating to help displaced residents in need. The Haines Chamber of Commerce, Chilkoot Indian Association and Haines Economic Development Corporation are working in collaboration to extend the recent byHaines initiative to assist families most in need as a result of the recent weather-related disaster. Funds donated to the organizations during and after the crisis will help the 33 families currently displaced due to inaccessible, destroyed or damaged homes. Vouchers to local businesses will be distributed to families for discretionary purchases including groceries with the dual purpose of supporting local businesses as well as those in need during the overlapping COVID-19 and weather crises the community is experiencing.
