These Spokane businesses, large retailers still require masks

Auntie s Bookstore in Spokane was one of the first local businesses to respond after Inslee s announcement about masks. In a post on social media, the popular local businesses said it would be requiring masks until further notice. “The statewide mask mandate is still in effect, and only about 37% of Spokane County is vaccinated. Some Spokane restaurants won t open for indoor dining under Phase 2

KXLY February 21, 2021 6:45 PM Kaitlin Knapp Updated: SPOKANE, Wash. Spokane is one week into Phase 2 of Governor Inslee’s Healthy Washington plan. This allows restaurants and bars to serve people indoors at 25% capacity. However, not all restaurants have decided to take advantage of this. Boots Bakery closed during both shutdowns since March. Each time it reopened, owner Alison Collins decided to keep indoor dining closed. “We get probably about 20 to 30 calls a day asking if we’re opening in for dine in,” Collins said. “It’s obviously disappointing to people when we say no and explaining that we just don’t have the space to make it happen. ”

Some Spokane restaurants reopen under modified guidelines

KXLY January 16, 2021 5:25 PM Elenee Dao SPOKANE, Wash. It’s a long 10 months for business owners trying to get through the pandemic.  At David’s Pizza, the owner says they’re happy to have people back inside under Governor Inslee’s new guidelines.  “It feels like a bitter reprieve. It’s a chance that you could actually take a breath,” said owner Mark Starr.  Six years ago, when Starr opened up the location on Mallon Avenue, he decided to put the big windows and doors in to open up for certain times of the year. “We run a sort of a cabana style, certain months out of the year it’s really, it’s a lot of fun,” he said.
