Industrialists seek action against WAPDA official

PESHAWAR: The office-bearers of Industrial State, Kohat Road on Monday asked the authorities to take notice of the alleged hooliganism by the XEN WAPDA, Peshawar Cantonment, Abdur Rauf Khan, after accusing him pf insulting industrialists.
Speaking at a news conference at Peshawar Press Club on Monday, the former general secretary, of the Small Industries Association, KP, Misbahuddin, Haji Iqbal and executive member, Muzaffar appealed to chief minister, IGP, SSP operations and Investigation to probe the incident and take action against the XEN for allegedly pointing a pistol at them.
The association office-bearers alleged that the XEN came to the industrial state on the kohat Road on Sunday and forcibly tried to remove power meter. Jamshedpur: Following the state government’s approval to use oxygen cylinders in industrial activities earlier this week, around 900 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Adityapur are expected to resume production by next week after being shut for nearly two months.
Ever since the second wave of Covid-19 struck Jharkhand in April, the state government had to divert the supply of oxygen cylinders to hospitals from the industries, thereby forcing the latter to stop production.
“Industrial production was stopped abruptly after the supply of oxygen cylinders was stopped to industries and as a consequence, entrepreneurs and workers had to sit idle at home without work for the past two months,” factory owner Mahesh Sonthalia said.
‘Allot portion of oxygen for partial functioning of units’

Espousing the cause of MSME units in and around Tiruchi, BHEL Small Industries Association has urged the district administration to allot a portion of oxygen to ensure at least partial functioning of the units.
There were about 450 MSME units in the region providing direct employment to 40,000 workers for manufacture of boiler components, sugar plant equipment and for export projects. The manufacturing units were also undertaking maintenance works of oxygen plants, oxygen cylinders and LPG cylinders.
For these industries, oxygen is the main basic requirement without which they cannot start work. “To save the livelihood of employees working with us, we have to necessarily operate the industries at least to 25 to 35% of the capacity which will help us to pay a minimum portion of the salary to enable them to take care of their critical requirements,” BHELSIA president Rajappa Ra
