The paper earned 18 awards in the Utah Press Association’s annual Better Newspaper Contest, the most in its circulation division comprising the largest non-daily newspapers in Utah.
Edward R. Murrow Awards in the Large Market Radio category. The station won awards in the Breaking News, Feature Reporting, Investigative Reporting, and News Series categories. The Murrow Awards are presented by the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) to honor outstanding achievements in electronic journalism. Breaking News. In May 2020 eight inches of rainfall caused two dams on the Titabawassee River in mid-Michigan to give way, flooding Midland and causing about 10,000 people to evacuate. Reporters Tracy Samilton, Lester Graham, Rick Pluta, and the
Stateside team covered the flood that caused huge amounts of damage, feared dioxin contamination, and debates over how the dams could have been kept in such ill repair.

Jennifer was recognized for Best News Series in 2020 as part of her investigations into the New York State Department of Labor.
Through her work, Jennifer has exposed fraud in the state s unemployment system and has helped countless people who have been impacted. She s also held Gov. Andrew Cuomo and his staff accountable for the oversight and delays in the system.
She continues to investigate and will track down new details until the system gets fixed.
VANCOUVER A prestigious international awards foundation named after a legendary broadcast journalist has chosen CTV News Vancouver for multiple honours, including several recognizing the station’s coverage of the COVID-19 pandemic in British Columbia. The 2021 Edward R. Murrow Awards were announced Thursday morning in Washington, D.C., and CTV News Vancouver was named as the recipient of five International Murrows, more than any other newsroom. The station s television and digital reporting around the pandemic earned the top prize for Overall Excellence. CTV News Vancouver was also honoured for its pandemic coverage in the Breaking News, Investigative, and Best Newscast categories.
